SAS DC-4, Inaugural flight Stockholm - New York, SAS DC-4 first flight across the Atlantic arrived at La Guardia Airport, New York, 1946-09-17. 28 invited passengers flow the first flight over Atlantic ocean with DC-4 Dan Viking from Bromma Airport, Stockholm to La Guardia LGA, New York. Stop-over at Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen CPH, Prestwick PIK Airport in Scotland and Gander Airport at Newfounland Island. The first flight took 25 hours. During 1946 the route went twice a week from every second time Copenhagen and Oslo. During 1947 the route went every day.
