Jason Mahoney will join SAS as the new Chief Operating Officer. He has extensive experience from the global aviation industry.

“I am very pleased to welcome Jason Mahoney to SAS. Jason is a well-recognized and experienced professional within the airline industry. He will be a valuable addition to SAS’ top management team,” says Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS.

Jason Mahoney previously held the position as Chief Technical Officer at British Airways and was responsible for driving technical engineering and large-scale operational changes worldwide. He has held several leader positions at British Airways, including COO for a number of years, and he has been Director of Engineering and Maintenance at TUI. Jason will start his new position May 1st and replaces Simon Pauck Hansen who left SAS in January.

I'm both proud and excited to join SAS. It is an airline with a long legacy and a strong brand and I see great potential ahead given its leading position in Scandinavia and the comprehensive transformation process SAS is currently undertaking. I am looking forward to be part of that journey and to continue developing the operations together with the team. I am also thrilled to be reconnecting with Scandinavia given my previous experiences, which I thoroughly enjoyed", says Jason Mahoney.

At the same time Erik Westman has been appointed EVP Network and Revenue Management at SAS after five months in the position as acting and is now a permanent member of SAS Group Management. Erik has held several leader positions during his ten years with SAS.
