SAS and Icelandair are filing for anti-trust immunity for North Atlantic routes Today SAS and Icelandair have filed for anti-trust immunity for North Atlantic routes, with the U.S. authorities. For the two companies, an approval means possibilities to broaden and deepen their transatlantic cooperation in order to improve the efficiency of their coordinated services, expand the benefits available to the travelling public and enhance their ability to compete in the marketplace. January 1 this year SAS and Icelandair started code-sharing on certain routes between Scandinavia and the United States. As the cooperation develops further, the two companies expect to be able to offer attractive products between a large number of destinations in Europe and the United States. SAS's present destinations in the United States are Chicago, New York (Newark) and Seattle while Icelandair flies to Boston, Minneapolis, New York (JFK), Orlando and Baltimore/ Washington.
