SAS Flight Academy and SAS Maintenance Training in joint venture SAS Flight Academy and SAS Maintenance Training have mid July signed an agreement to jointly provide maintenance training. According to the agreement, SAS Maintenance Training together with SAS Flight Academy's maintenance training department will be the effective producer of a wide span of JAR 147 approved maintenance training courses. SAS Flight Academy will use its already established sales organisation. The new pedagogical method that SAS Maintenance Training recently introduced, which enables a high training quality at a competitive price, will be the base in the training. The partnership between the two organisations will make an optimum usage of resources possible, but also centralised planning, professional sales and marketing organisation, standardised course products, and centralised development of JAR 147 products, such as A319/A320/A321, A330, A340, B737Classic, B737NG, B767, MD-80, MD-90 and DC-9. SAS Maintenance Training is a department within SAS Technical Services, which is a Business Unit within the SAS Group. SAS Technical Services has its headquarters at Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, and delivers technical maintenance on aircraft to Scandinavian Airlines and other airlines within as well as outside the SAS Group. The close connection between the maintenance training and the JAR 145 organisation enables effective training for a safe and efficient maintenance operation. SAS Flight Academy provides training for pilots, cabin crews, maintenance technicians and ships' officers. The training facilities, located in Stockholm and Copenhagen, offer training for twelve different aircraft types, ranging from regional to long haul aircraft and helicopter.
