SAS Monthly traffic and Capacity Data for January

January in brief Passenger traffic (RPK) was up in January, with an overall increase of 0,5% vs. January 1999. Overall capacity (ASK) was down 2,3% and passenger load factor increased by 1.6 p.u. The reduction in capacity over Christmas and the first days of January was planned due to weaker demand over the millennium period. (As indicated in November 1999 traffic data). Even so, particularly positive development was noted on Swedish and Norwegian domestic routes. Asian routes also developed well in January. @ Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 0,5% in January 2000 vs. 2000. @ The number of passengers increased by 1,7%. @ Business Class traffic was up 0,9% and Economy Class was up 0,3%.
