SAS reduces its British Midland shareholding

SAS reduces its British Midland shareholding Lufthansa is to purchase British Midland shares with a value of GBP 91.4 million from SAS. As a result, SAS's shareholding in British Midland will be reduced from 40%, the level that has prevailed since 1992, to 20%. At the same time, British Midland announces its willingness [alt: intention] to become a member of Star Alliance. The existing members of Star Alliance are SAS, Lufthansa, United Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Air Canada, VARIG, THAI, Ansett Australia and Air New Zealand.
