SAS to initiate result improvement measures

SAS to initiate result improvement measures The negative trend in the global economy noted in the past few months will be further emphasized by the recent horrible events in the U.S.A. The full consequences of the events are too early to foresee, but it is clear that it will have a significant negative effect on the airline industry in general as well as on SAS. SAS direct exposure on the North Atlantic is that it accounts for 5-10% of total Group revenues. However, SAS has already noted negative effects also on other parts of the traffic system. SAS has decided to implement result improvement measures with immediate effect. The program will focus on adjustments in capacity plans (route and network) as well as other result improvement measures. These measures will be developed during the next few weeks and implemented in SAS ordinary business planning.
