SCST - Fire incident in Scandi Standard´s Ready-to-eat facility in Farre, Denmark

Report this content

During yesterday, April 6 2022, Scandi Standard’s Ready-to-eat facility in Denmark, Farre, experienced a fire incident. Efficient fire detection systems and procedures enabled staff and local fire authorities to control and extinguish the fire before it caused material damage to the plant. Nobody was injured.

Required repairs have already begun and will cause a lower production throughput in the Farre plant during the next few days. An early assessment indicates that Scandi Standards damages might be in line with the company deductible of 20 MSEK. The impact on customers is expected to be limited through application of inventory reserves.

We are of course grateful that no one was hurt, and that material damages were contained through swift action by our staff and well-functioning internal systems and procedures. We don´t expect our customers to be affected in any significant way, says Jonas Tunestål, CEO and managing director of Scandi Standard.
