European market leader wins Image Award and consolidates its position at the top of the Trailers/bodies for fleets up to 10 vehicles category
Image Award 2015: Schmitz Cargobull records seventh consecutive win
Munich/Horstmar, 05 February 2015 – Schmitz Cargobull has further consolidated its position as a leading manufacturer by winning the coveted VerkehrsRundschau Image Award for the seventh year in a row. The European market leader and global trailer manufacturer once again raised the benchmark in the Trailers/bodies category for fleets up to 10 vehicles. Josef Warmeling, Head of International Key Account Management at Schmitz Cargobull AG, accepted the trophy on behalf of the returning champion. "We won't rest now, but will continue to build on our advantage. That’s because reliability and innovation, and constantly striving to develop even better solutions for our customers, is what drives us," emphasised Warmeling in his acceptance speech.
The coveted Image Award is presented annually by the renowned German magazine VerkehrsRundschau. Each year, a well-known, independent research institute carries out a representative opinion survey, asking over 500 randomly selected managers and fleet managers from German carriers to rate the image of commercial vehicle providers and companies offering services in the sector.
This year's Image Award rated a total of over 120 of the most important providers in seven categories: trucks, vans, trailers/bodies, tyres, fuel cards, commercial vehicle rental/leasing and telematics. Since 2010, the ranking has been divided into separate categories for operators of small fleets up to 10 commercial vehicles and operators of mid-sized/large fleets above 11 commercial vehicles, in order to reflect the differentiated positioning. The small fleets represent 80 per cent of the companies surveyed.
It is precisely in this important group (fleets of up to 10 commercial vehicles) that Schmitz Cargobull has been able to put clear distance between itself and its competitors. In the previous ranking in 2013, the ‘blue elephant’ achieved new record scores, placing it well ahead of the competition. This year's results show that Schmitz Cargobull AG has managed to extend its lead over its direct competitors. "We have consistently been placed in the leading group of all brands in our sector for many years, and we are always right at the top when it comes to trailer manufacturers," asserted a delighted Josef Warmeling.
The company's subsidiaries, Schmitz Cargobull Telematics and Schmitz Cargobull Finance, have also continued to establish themselves at the top of the rankings.
The European market leader's excellent results were further complemented by the achievements of its tailored trailer finance subsidiary. The company moved up from fourth to third place, reaching the podium for the very first time.
Meanwhile, the telematics subsidiary continued to hold its own against the growing numbers of companies offering telematics systems aimed at trailer users. Josef Warmeling said: "This series of successes – from innovative trailers to comprehensive services – shows that our services are tailored to meet the precise needs of our target groups. Our reliable, customisable package of solutions is reflected in the results of the VerkehrsRundschau Image Awards study."
