GOFERS LOGISTICS WORLDWIDE ORDERS NEW SCHMITZ CARGOBULL EUROLINERS
21 March 2013
GOfers Logistics Worldwide has taken delivery of 20 new Schmitz Cargobull Euroliners for its 30-strong fleet, each supplied in a striking black, yellow and white livery. The trailers – officially termed S.CS Universal curtainsiders – will be joined by a further 10 identical units due to enter service later in 2013.
The Cambridge-based company will use the tri-axle trailers to run predominantly between the UK and mainland Europe, carrying a diverse range of cargos including raw materials, consumables and finished products.
Each S.CS Universal curtainsider is built to a full European specification, offering the customary choice of four loading points, together with a tarpaulin sliding roof which maximises internal trailer height. Their lightweight design also ensures a competitive payload capacity and the space to transport 34 Euro pallets, compared with the 33 pallets common on most UK-specification trailers.
A spokesman for GOfers Logistics Worldwide, says: “I have a lot of confidence in the Schmitz Cargobull product, especially after visiting the factory in Altenberge, Germany, and seeing the Euroliners in production.
“Everything about the Schmitz Cargobull operation is slick and professional; from the moment we registered an enquiry with the UK team, we were treated like long-standing customers.
“When you’re running a busy international logistics operation, attention to detail from suppliers can make all the difference. Even the quoted delivery dates from the Schmitz Cargobull factory were accurate, which makes fleet planning and forecasting a lot easier.”
Each of the trailers has been supplied on a full service European maintenance contract, enabling service work to be carried out by any Cargobull service partner within Europe. This affords maximum servicing flexibility, rather than having to plan scheduled maintenance around the asset returning to a UK workshop.
Furthermore, like all new S.CS Universal curtainsiders, they comply with European Standard EN 12642 (Code XL). This independent guarantee of structural rigidity confirms they will retain their cargo in the event of an incident. A load securing system is only required when the load is not a “positive fit” and of varying heights.
GOfers Logistics Worldwide also specified Schmitz Cargobull’s own ROTOS® running gear for each of the 20 trailers. This utilises wheel bearings, brake discs, brake callipers, pneumatic suspension components and shock absorbers from world-class manufacturers. Together, these carefully selected components ensure quality, reliability and reduced maintenance requirements, and are backed by a 1,000,000 km or six year* warranty.
