Paul Alban has been appointed as Parts Manager UK & Ireland at Schmitz Cargobull, a role fundamental to the future expansion of the company’s parts operation at its new headquarters in Warrington, Cheshire.

Alban – who marks his fifteenth year with the trailer manufacturer this year – has hit the ground running having been promoted to his new position to oversee all functions of the restructured parts division. He will also be looking to expand the current product range.

Schmitz Cargobull is also in the midst of introducing an Electronic Parts Ordering System (EPOS), another area which falls under Alban’s remit. The new system allows users to order parts online for next-day delivery, and also serves as a reference point and documentation store for all trailers built by the company.

“Paul’s product knowledge and focus on customer satisfaction have allowed for a seamless transition,” said Paul Avery, Managing Director of Schmitz Cargobull UK. “He has been an integral member of the parts team for more than eight years and I have no doubt that he will continue to strengthen the department further with the roll-out of EPOS and his strong people management skills.”

EPOS allows customers to view an itemised report of parts specific to their trailer/s by entering bespoke chassis numbers into the system. It also holds technical data sheets and can be viewed in numerous languages.

Warrington now plays home to Schmitz Cargobull UK, including the used trailer sales facility – featuring a three-bay trailer refurbishment workshop – a 634m² parts facility which is now fully utilised to serve as the company’s primary UK parts store, housing over £½ million of original equipment products, and on-site parking for over 80 trailers.
