Altris Selected for EIC Accelerator to Industrialize European Sodium-Ion Battery Technology
Altris, the Swedish developer of sodium-ion battery technology, has been selected for funding under the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator program.
Under the decision, Altris will receive a €2.5 million non-dilutive grant combined with a potential equity investment of up to €10 million through the EIC Fund. The funding will accelerate the industrial scale-up and commercial deployment of Altris’ proprietary Prussian White–based sodium-ion chemistry.
The EIC Accelerator supports Europe’s most promising deep-tech companies developing breakthrough innovations with the potential to create new markets and strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty.
Altris’ selection recognises the potential of its Prussian White–based sodium‑ion technology to strengthen Europe’s battery value chain and reduce reliance on constrained lithium supply.

The funding will be used to accelerate:
- Industrialisation of Altris’ cathode active material production
- Scale-up of European manufacturing capacity
- Further validation with strategic industrial partners
- Commercial deployment in targeted market segments
With this support, Altris strengthens its position as a long-term European industrial player contributing to a more resilient, sustainable and strategically autonomous battery sector.
