iShares uppmanar investerare att tänka annorlunda kring indexinvesteringar
- ”Smart” beta är inte nödvändigtvis smartare eller bättre, bara annorlunda
- iShares introducerar ny guide till passiva investeringar då intresset för icke-traditionella indexstrategier skjuter i höjden
Stockholm den 9 november 2013 - I en ny rapport om den växande indexmarknaden uppmanar iShares, BlackRocks plattform för börshandlade fonder, investerare att tänka annorlunda kring indexinvesteringar och ger ett ramverk för investerare att förhålla sig till vid valet av indexinvestering.
”Aldrig tidigare har indexmarknaden utvecklats i samma hastighet som den gjort de senaste tre åren”, säger Geir Espeskog, Nordenchef för iShares. ”Även framöver förväntar vi oss att tillväxten fortsätter då produktutbudet växer och allt fler investerare får upp ögonen för dem.”
”Det tillkommer ett allt större utbud av indexprodukter, många av dessa kallar sig ”smart beta” vilket vi anser vara en vilseledande etikett. Nya varianter av beta, exempelvis sådana index som inte vägs efter börsvärdet, är inte nödvändigtvis smartare eller bättre, bara annorlunda. Vi rekommenderar att investerare tänker annorlunda kring indexinvesteringar. Fokusera på det resultat som indexet eftersträvar, oavsett om det handlar om förbättrad avkastning eller riskkontroll, och överväg sedan hur den strategin kan fungera i det rådande investeringsklimatet”, säger Ursula Marchioni, chef för iShares Equity Strategy & ETP Research i EMEA.
Rapporten Art of Indexing har skapats som ett verktyg för de som redan investerar i eller tänker investera i indexmarknaden. Den klargör skillnaderna mellan ETF:er, traditionella indexfonder, certifikat och swappar, och illustrerar hur risknivåer och avkastning kan skilja sig åt väsentligt, även bland de produkter som ser ut att erbjuda samma exponering eller har liknande namn.
”Det är en myt att tracking av ett index är en enkel och automatiserad process – det stämmer helt enkelt inte. Det finns betydelsefulla skillnader mellan olika jämförelseindex, olika typer av produkter produkter och förvaltningsstilar, inte minst mellan olika leverantörer, avslutar Ursula Marchioni.
