The Swedish Competition Authority has approved Telia’s acquisition of Bredband2
On 18 July 2025, Telia Company AB (“Telia”) announced a public offer (the “Offer”) to the shareholders of Bredband2 i Skandinavien AB (“Bredband2”). Telia’s completion of the Offer is conditional upon, inter alia, the receipt of all necessary regulatory, governmental or similar clearances, approvals, decisions and other actions from authorities or similar, including from competition authorities, in each case on terms which, in Telia’s opinion, are acceptable as well as it being accepted to such extent that Telia becomes the owner of more than 90 per cent of the total number of shares in Bredband2. Telia has reserved the right to waive, in whole or in part, all conditions for the completion of the Offer, including to complete the Offer at a lower acceptance level.
On 17 October 2025, the Swedish Competition Authority initiated an in-depth investigation (a so-called “phase 2” investigation) of Telia’s acquisition of Bredband2.
The Swedish Competition Authority has today decided to leave Telia’s acquisition of sole control over Bredband2 without action.
