Inleder pilotprojekt inom stamcellsterapi för diabetes typ-1

Cline inleder ett pilotprojekt med det danska stamcellsterapiföretaget Pancryos. Pilotprojektet syftar till att genomföra preliminära tester med Clines teknologi och Pancryos stamcellsprogram för diabetes typ-1.

Pancryos utvecklar en allogen stamcellsterapi för behandling och framtida bot av diabetes typ 1. Bolaget är baserat på många års forskning från Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Biology (DanStem) vid Köpenhamns universitet. Cline erbjuder Pancryos att testa och utvärdera Clines teknologi för olika syften och steg i produktionsprocessen av Pancryos unika cellprodukt. Pilotprojektet väntas påbörjas under Q3 i år och skall ge indikationer på hur Clines teknologi kan användas för att öka kvalitén i produktionen av Pancryos stamcellsprodukt.

Pancryos is dedicated to developing a safe and cost-efficient cell replacement therapy to improve quality of life of millions of people suffering from insulin-dependent diabetes. Pancryos has established a simplified and effective method to generate stem cell derived glucose responsive beta cells. This promising cell therapy, PanINSULA™, is in preclinical development and protected by IP licensed from Copenhagen University. Pancryos' proprietary IP covers i) the isolation of pancreatic progenitor cells (PPCs) with a unique cell surface marker called GP2, and ii) a simplified differentiation protocol to generate glucose responsive mature beta cells for implantation.
