Leadtek bundle Cult3D with second generation NVIDIA GeForce2 GTSTM London, England, March 8, 2001 - Cycore, the leader in interactive 3D for e-business, today announced that Leadtek Research, a leading manufacturer of graphic cards is bundling Cycore's Cult3D viewer and designer software with it's second generation GeForce2 based 3D graphic card - WinFast GeForce2 GTS. This gives WinFast GeForce2 GTS customers instant access to Cult3D - the real-time multi-platform 3D rendering engine for displaying 3D objects over the Internet, or via Microsoft Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat files. The Cult3D software is included on the WinFast GeForce2 GTS software drivers CD and adds further value to Leadtek customers. With its innovative real-time shading architecture, the WinFast GeForce2 GTS fully leverages powerful new features such as complex per-pixel lighting from NVIDIA's newest GeForce2 GTS graphic processing unit (GPU). The hardware's impressive technical abilities mean desktop users can now experience accurate surface attributes like leather, metals, wool, fur and other natural textures in real time 3D objects or environments. This means a much more realistic and life-like representation of 3D images than previously possible, benefiting users of the graphic card. Cult3D enables companies to build and display low-bandwidth, sound- enhanced, interactive 3D objects for the Web, Microsoft Office® and Adobe® Acrobat®. Cult3D runs on a wide range of computers and operating systems including Windows, MacOS and Linux. Although Cult3D does not require special graphics hardware, it does benefit from a range of graphical effects offered by hardware such as the WinFast GeForce2 GTS. In use by some of the world's leading companies, such as Palm, Nokia, JVC, Hitachi and CNN.com, Cult3D is helping to improve product understanding and enhance e-business effectiveness. Leadtek Research has been active in the European market for some years now - opening a European headquarters in Holland last year, with a dedicated UK office opening in March/April. Along with the partnering of Cycore for the bundling of Cult3D with WinFast GeForce2 GTS, this is a further sign of Leadtek's commitment to the European market. "This bundling enables users to build and view even richer and more lifelike 3D models of highly complex products," commented Bengt Starke, president and CEO of Cycore. "This is one of the first steps for Cycore to distribute the Cult3D viewer with hardware manufacturers and make it easier for the end user to bring the power of high quality interactive 3D to the Web, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat as the users do not need to download the viewer to experience rich 3D media." "Cult3D is the leading software for displaying 3D graphics over the Internet" said Richard Chou, assistant vice president of Leadtek and head of the graphics division. "Coupled with the sheer power and performance offered by our WinFast GeForce2 GTS graphic card, the bundling will bring the benefit of better quality online 3D graphics to our customers." -END- About Leadtek Research Inc.
