Global Gaming:s styrelse har idag utsett Tobias Fagerlund till ny VD och Koncernchef. Tobias har varit tillförordnad VD sedan den 29 april i år.
”Det är med tillfredsställelse och med fullt förtroende som vi idag utser Tobias Fagerlund till permanent VD och koncernchef”, säger Global Gaming:s styrelseordförande Peter Eidensjö och fortsätter:
”Tobias har lång erfarenhet från industrin och ifrån att leda förändringsarbete. Hans djupa förståelse för vår nuvarande situation och att han besitter de personliga kvalitéer som situationen kräver gör honom till rätt man för jobbet att axla det ansvar och den stora utmaning som det innebär att vara VD för Global Gaming framöver”.
För två veckor sedan meddelade Spelinspektionen att de med omedelbar verkan beslutat att dra in de licenser för kommersiellt onlinespel som ett av bolagets maltesiska dotterbolag innehaft. Beslutet är överklagat och ligger nu för domstolsavgörande.
Om sin nya roll och bolagets situation säger Tobias Fagerlund:
”Det är med tillförsikt och ödmjukhet som jag har accepterat att ta på mig denna roll. Även om jag önskat att omständigheterna varit annorlunda så är det självklart för mig att göra det. Jag har stor tilltro till Global Gaming och står fast vid vad jag sagt under de senaste veckorna: Spelinspektionens beslut är felaktigt och oproportionerligt. Vi är övertygade om att vi efterlever den svenska lagstiftningens krav och jag har stor tilltro till den rättsliga prövningen vilken jag nu ser fram emot”.
Han fortsätter:
”Den uppkomna situationen skadar oss, våra kunder, våra anställda och våra ca 6 000 aktieägare varje dag. Vi ska göra allt vi kan för att återställa så mycket förtroende som möjligt för oss och för att våra varumärken ska kunna erbjudas våra kunder i Sverige snart igen”.
Tobias kommer att kvarstå i bolagets styrelse.

Global Gaming 555 AB - Tobias Fagerlund appointed new CEO and President of Global Gaming (English translation follows)
Global Gaming’s Board of Directors has appointed Tobias Fagerlund as the new President and CEO of Global Gaming with immediate effect from today, July 2nd, 2019. Tobias has been the company’s Acting CEO since April 29, 2019.
“It is with pleasure and complete confidence that we confirm Tobias Fagerlund as President and CEO of Global Gaming. His long experience of both the industry and change management, coupled with his deep understanding of our current situation and the fact he possesses the personal qualities required by the situation, clearly make him the right person to shoulder the great responsibility and challenge entailed by being the CEO of Global Gaming in the future”.
Only two weeks ago, the Swedish Gambling Authority unexpectedly revoked the licences held by one of the company’s Maltese subsidiaries for the provision of online gambling services in the Swedish market. The decision was appealed and is currently in the appeal process.
Of his new role and the company's situation, Tobias Fagerlund comments:
“It is with confidence and humility that I have agreed to take on this role. I would have naturally preferred to be appointed under different circumstances, but I have no reservations in accepting it. I have a great deal of faith in Global Gaming and stand by what I have said in recent weeks: the regulator’s decision to revoke our licences is incorrect and disproportionate. We are confident that we are compliant with the requirements of the Swedish legislation, and I have faith in the judicial process and look forward to its outcome”, and he adds:
“The current situation is damaging to us, our customers, our employees and approximately 6,000 shareholders for every day that goes by. We will do everything in our power to restore as much confidence as possible in us, in order to be able to offer our brands to our customers in Sweden again soon.”
Tobias will remain a member of the company's Board of Directors.
