HCL Technologies och Sierra Wireless effektiviserar logistik- och lagerhantering

Lanserar ny HCL-lösning baserad på SAP Leonardo som integrerar med Sierra Wireless Octave – ger kunder bättre information kring lagernivåer, bättre spårbarhet och skapar möjligheter att optimera intäkter

Barcelona, Mobile World Congress 2019 – Det globala teknologiföretaget HCL Technologies, och Sierra Wireless lanserar en ny lösning för effektiv logistik- och lagerhantering - HCL Smart Logistics for Inventory Tracking 1.0 Accelerator powered by SAP® Leonardo. Lösningen är SAP-certifierad och integrerar med datahanteringsplattformen Sierra Wireless OctaveTM.Lösningen baseras på trådlös low-power, wide-area (LPWA)-teknologi och gör det möjligt för kunder att effektivisera sina lagerhanteringsprocesser tack vare mer effektiv tillgång till data som gör det möjligt att optimera processer och öka intäkter från befintliga tillgångar.

Idag kan företag koppla upp IoT-sensorer för att samla in geografiska, och annan produktrelaterad, data kring sina tillgångar. Däremot kan det vara komplext att skapa den typ av information som bara en integrerad lösning kan ge. Det är här den nya lösningen kommer in i bilden.

Vid utvecklingen av Smart Logistics Accelerator integrerade HCL den distribuerade dataplattformen Octave från Sierra Wireless med SAP Leonardo. Lösningen körs på SAP Cloud Platform och gör det möjligt att optimera lagernivåer och effektivisera övervakningsprocesser på ett sätt som kan lägga grunden för nya tjänster.

-       Att förstå data innebär många fördelar på strategisk nivå, men att dessutom kunna få säker tillgång till data i ett format som kan ligga till grund för konkreta och skalbara initiativ, har inte varit möjligt förrän nu, säger Olivier Pauzet, Vice President och General Manager, IoT Solutions på Sierra Wireless.

HCL och Sierra Wireless visar Smart Logistics Accelerator på Mobile World Congress 2019. Ett exempel på tillämpning är en live-demo relaterad till dryckesbranschen. Där visade företagen hur tillgång till data kan skapa en lösning som exempelvis talar om för en restaurang eller bar: Har öltunnan öppnats? Är ölen tillräckligt kall? Hur mycket öl har sålts? Vet bryggeriet eller distributören om att vi kan komma att behöva fler leveranser? Fakturerar leverantören oss enbart för den öl vi säljer? Svaren och agerandet på den typen av frågor skapar en mer effektiv affärsverksamhet samtidigt som kundservicen kan optimeras.
