HiQ accelerates development in Blekinge, Martin Krona appointed new MD
Martin Krona is the new MD of HiQ Karlskrona and takes over responsibility for HiQ’s operations in Blekinge. Klas Nyström takes on the role of executive board chairman with responsibility for regional development.
“The change is part of the investments HiQ is making in Blekinge. Klas will be able to work more strategically and Martin will contribute great enthusiasm, new skills and lots of energy on the operational side. Together we will mould HiQ in Blekinge into the best company for everyone: clients, employees and partners,” said Lars Stugemo, President and CEO of HiQ.
Martin Krona has been appointed MD of HiQ’s subsidiary HiQ Karlskrona as from 15 November 2019. Martin comes from a solid background in IT and telecom with several leading positions at international companies. Since 2000, he has worked as a sales manager, marketing manager and most recently as EMEA & Asia manager at Sierra Wireless where he helped establish a service organisation within IoT Services. Martin is originally from Karlskrona and has a solid contact network in the region and deep knowledge of the local market.

Of course, it feels extra special to come home to Karlskrona and Blekinge again after many years of traveling abroad and to continue to help the region’s companies digitalise,” said Martin Krona.
Martin replaces Klas Nyström, who will continue working to develop HiQ in Blekinge, and remains in the company as executive board chairman of HiQ Karlskrona AB with responsibility for strategic development.
“During his time as MD of HiQ Karlskrona, Klas developed a stable business that has long been an appreciated employer in the region and delivered strong profitability and high quality to HiQ’s customers in Blekinge," said Stugemo.
Martin started working at HiQ in Karlskrona in April and has received a thorough introduction to HiQ’s operations. And already has extensive experience in the tech industry as well as the local market in Blekinge.
“My heart lies in Blekinge and I have a lot of energy and ideas to bring to the position. Together with all my great colleagues, I hope to continue the excellent progress we have made at HiQ Karlskrona since 2004.
