Changes to Zound’s Board of Directors
At the Annual General Meeting on May 19th, Zound appointed Henri de Bodinat as their new Chairman and welcomed Jonathan Ellery, MD Marshall Amplification, to the Board. Both bring valuable experience from the music industry.
Henri de Bodinat is a founding partner at Time For Growth, one of Zound’s early investors, and has been on the Board of Directors since 2015. Henri has a doctorate from Harvard Business School and has a strong background in both the music industry as well as the technology sector having been CEO for Sony Music in France and Executive VP for Sony Software Europe.
Today Henri is a board member for a range of Time’s portfolio companies such as games developer Oh BiBi and online streetwear store La Boutique Officielle. He replaces Tommy Jacobsson who will remain a member of the Board of Directors.
“It’s a great honor for me to step up as Chairman of the Board for Zound and to succeed Tommy who has done an incredible job during his tenure. There is tremendous potential for Zound Industries to continue disrupting the consumer electronics industry and I’m looking forward to leading the Board’s efforts to support this journey”, said Henri de Bodinat.
In 2018 the partnership between Zound Industries and Marshall Amplification grew stronger with a new 15 year licencing agreement. At the same time Marshall became a shareholder in Zound and now Jonathan Ellery, MD for Marshall Amplification, joins the Board. Jonathan brings considerable experience from the music industry plus a deep understanding of the Marshall legacy, having worked side by side with founder Jim Marshall for many years.
”Zound and Marshall have become intrinsinctly linked over the last ten years. The knowledge sharing and understanding between us has been instrumental to that success. It’s great to now join the Board of Directors at Zound to continue to develop this partnership and to bring relevant experience from the music industry to the table”, said Jonathan Ellery.
