09.30-09.40 Opening and welcome remarks Carl Schlyter MEP 09.45- 10.45 Share the jobs, moderator: Jean Lambert "Working time patterns and work-sharing in Europe" Gerhard Bosch, professor in sociology at the University of Duisburg that from empirical studies focuses on which conditions that has to be fulfilled for the reduction in working time to result in reduced unemployment.
Q&A 11.00-12.30 Working time and climate, moderator: Marije Cornelissen MEP "Would shorter work time reduce greenhouse gas emissions?" Jörgen Larsson, researcher at the Department of Sociology, University of Gothenburg and at Chalmers University of Technology. He will describe new research results on the impact of work hours on energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
Q&A "The role of working hours in reducing carbon footprints" Juliet Schor (will participate remotely through visioconference), professor in sociology at Boston College. Author of a number of books on workingtime/consumption/equality between men and women from a feminist and green perspective.
