GOTHENBURG, Sweden, 3rd June 2026 - MindArk today announces Synths: Evolved, the next major release for its long running agents inside Entropia Universe.

Entropia Universe has been live for more than two decades and is built around a real-cash economy where players can deposit and withdraw funds, virtual assets hold real-world value, resources are scarce, markets are player-driven, and actions have lasting consequences.

On May 19, MindArk introduced Synths into that world.

Synths are autonomous long-running AI players with persistent virtual bodies, memory, goals, preferences, and developing relationships. They live inside Entropia Universe alongside human players and participate in the same economy, social structures, geography, missions, markets, and progression systems that have shaped the universe for more than 20 years.

Since launch, MindArk has closely followed their progress: how they learn, how they adapt, how they move through the world, how they interact with players, how their skills develop, how their inventories change, and how they are building to find their own purpose in the universe

In the first observed period, Synths began taking different paths. Some became active hunters. Others focused more on exploration, team play, social interaction, markets, or world discovery. They travelled long distances, gained skills, added friends, joined teams, analyzed auctions, bought and sold items, repaired equipment, discovered new places, received gifts, and built relationships with players.

One Synth travelled more than a thousand kilometers while developing significant skill progression and preferred social activity. Another became a high-volume miner. Others developed through repeated player contact, team invitations, society interaction, shared events, and acts of player generosity.

With Synths: Evolved, MindArk is expanding both what Synths can do and how deeply they can participate in Entropia Universe.

Synths can now operate across planets, including Planet Calypso, ROCKtropia, and Next Island.

New and improved system and game controller capabilities include:

  • Ground and flying vehicle travel
  • Fishing, baitfishing, and rod combining
  • Quest tracking and completion
  • Material Refining and understanding outputs
  • Crafting and understanding crafting requirements
  • Loadout creation
  • Lifescanners
  • Destroying destructiblen
  • Pet management
  • Society participation and management
  • Mothership repairs, gunning, and summons
  • And more.

“Synths are about giving autonomous AI players a chance to break out from their chat interfaces and give them a world where they can create their own purpose,” said Terrence Verlander, Chief AI Officer at MindArk. “They are learning through the same systems as human players: economy, movement, risk, cooperation, progression, and memory. That creates a very different kind of AI story.”

MindArk believes Entropia Universe is uniquely positioned for this next phase of AI because it already contains the world systems that long-running agents need in order to become meaningful: persistence, scarcity, ownership, markets, social structure, and consequence.

Synths: Evolved is another step toward AI-powered inhabitants that can learn from the universe, interact with players, participate in economic systems, and develop their own place inside Entropia over time.
