NCC and TeliaSonera call off cooperation concerning new head office

NCC and TeliaSonera have discontinued their cooperation to develop a new head office for TeliaSonera in Kristineberg on Western Kungsholmen since the requisite official permits have not been received in time.

NCC has currently not received the official permits required to meet TeliaSonera’s schedule for a new head office, which resulted in Telia deciding to choose another supplier for its new head office.

The office building in Kristineberg that was aimed to be developed for TeliaSonera’s operations comprised approximately 50,000 square meters of floor space. The lease that was signed in May 2013 was conditional upon the receipt of a detailed development plan and permits from authorities in 2013. The parties extended the cooperation at the end of 2013, but yesterday TeliaSonera decided to move forward with another project for its new head office.

“The cooperation with TeliaSonera has been close and worked well, and we jointly collaborated on developing a modern workplace to support their business activities. We fully understand their need to maintain their schedule. We are now moving forward with the project and the detailed development plan so that we can offer the premises to other tenants. The location is close to the subway and with an excellent signage position close to the Essingeleden highway,” says Carola Lavén, Business Area Manager, NCC Property Development.

In Kristineberg, Stockholm inner city is undergoing an expansion whereby the city district will become part of the city. The ambition is to link together Western Kungsholmen’s various parts so that they will be perceived as being more vibrant than in the past. Kristineberg will be equipped with new housing units, businesses and a city square.
