Northlands ordförande lämnar styrelsen

Luxemburg, 3 maj 2013 – Northland Resources S.A. (TSX: NAU, OSE: NAUR, Frankfurt: NPK, First North/Nasdaq: NAURo – tillsammans med dess dotterbolag, “Northland” eller “Bolaget”) meddelar att Anders Hvide lämnar posten som arbetande styrelseordförande den 3 maj 2013. Matti Kinnunen har av styrelsen utsetts till tillförordnad styrelseordförande. Matti Kinnunen har varit ledamot av styrelsen sedan 2011.

Styrelsen kommenterar: “Anders har bidragit starkt med att utveckla Northland från ett prospekteringsbolag till ett producerande järnmalmsbolag. Han har fungerat som ett utmärkt stöd till ledningen och de övriga anställda under sina fyra år som arbetande ordförande”.

Northland är en producent av järnmalm med en portfölj av produktion, utvecklings- och prospekteringsprojekt i norra Sverige och Finland. Den första byggfasen av Kaunisvaara-projektet är färdig och drifttagningen startade i november 2012. Northland avser att producera ett höghaltigt och högkvalitativt järnmalmskoncentrat i svenska Kaunisvaara, där Bolaget har två fyndigheter, Tapuli och Sahavaara, med magnetitmalm. Northland har ingått så kallade ”off-take agreements” för hela produktionen från Kaunisvaara de kommande sju till tio åren. Bolaget förbereder även en lönsamhetsstudie (DFS) för Hannukainen-projektet i Kolari i norra Finland. Hannukainen är en så kallad IOCG-fyndighet, vilket innebär att det utöver järnmalm även kan utvinnas guld och koppar. Bolaget förbereder även en DFS för Pellivuoma-fyndigheten som ligger 15 km från anrikningsverket i Kaunisvaara.
