[Stockholm, Sweden, June 4, 2007.] Mr. Johan Berg, until recently CEO for the listed gaming company Boss Media, has been appointed new CEO for the Swedish software company op5. op5 supplies open source based software for control and monitoring of IT infrastructure. Open source software that has been developed further and sold as complete systems is a niche that is growing rapidly globally.

Johan Berg takes up his duties as CEO for op5 in August. As CEO he will get the overall responsability for all op5’s operations. op5 has 200 customers and 20 employees at its offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg. op5’s products assist organizations to better control and measure their IT systems, and increase the systems’ quality and operational safety.
”We deliver the same value as our biggest competitors but for a tenth of the cost. The 200 companies and organizations that have already chosen op5 have realised that solutions that are dependent on suppliers tend to become very expensive over time. Our objective is to be leading in Sweden within one year, and also to establish a presence in our neighbouring countries in Scandinavia and northern Europe”, said Johan Berg.
"Solutions based on open source can be delivered with a superior quality and at a very low cost thanks to the unique development model." Johan Berg has more than 20 years of experience from the international software industry. Between 1992 and 2005 he held leading positions at Intentia, e.g. as CEO for Intentia Benelux and as CEO for Intentia Reserach & Devlopment. 2004 - 2005 he was Vice President of Intentia. Johan Berg most recent assignment was as CEO for the gaming company Boss Media, a position he took up in 2005 and left in May this year. Boss Media is listed on the Stockholm Stoch Exchange with a market capitalisation of approx. 1bn SEK (145 mUSD; 107 mEUR).
