PIRELLI: P ZERO TYRES ON THE NEW ASTON MARTIN AM 310 VANQUISH
Pirelli’s premium tyre gains a new and prestigious original equipment fitment, a few weeks away from the P Zero range’s 25th birthday.
Milan, 30 July 2012 – Pirelli has consolidated its technical partnership with Aston Martin thanks to an original equipment agreement for the new AM 310 Vanquish. With the P Zero range’s 25th birthday just a few weeks away, Pirelli gains a new fitment in the prestige sector on the British company’s latest model. P Zero has been chosen as original equipment on the Vanquish with a front tyre size of 255/35ZR20 (97Y)XL and rear tyre size of 305/30ZR20 (103Y)XL.
The AM 310 Vanquish joins more than 250 other manufacturer homologations collected by the P Zero range in the last five years, underlining the close partnership between Pirelli and Aston Martin. Among the Aston Martin line-up, the DBS Coupe, DBS Volante and V12 Vantage use P Zero and P Zero Corsa summer tyres along with Sottozero Serie II winter tyres. P Zero Corsa is original equipment on the One-77 and Zagato V12. Pirelli supplies original equipment for the Virage as well, which benefits from P Zero and Sottozero Serie II.
P Zero enhances the performance of the new AM 310 Vanquish – which combines aerodynamics, power and cutting-edge materials – and offers high safety standards at the same time by guaranteeing reduced braking distances in both wet and dry conditions, optimal roadholding on straights and through corners, as well as perfect driveability and comfort. P Zero uses special nanotechnologies in the compounds, which ensure both a comfortable drive and sporting performance. The design of the tread pattern delivers the best possible grip on wet surfaces, thanks to its three circumferential grooves, and guarantees low noise levels, while the asymmetric profile allows consistent wear. The P Zero’s structure is also conceived to contain any deformation of the tyre even at high speeds of up to 370 kph.
P Zero is available in around 130 different sizes from 17 to 21 inches. Thanks to its state-of-the-art technology, it is considered to be the flagship of Pirelli’s premium range. The tyre was launched in 2007 but has continuously evolved thanks to close collaboration with the world’s most prestigious car manufacturers, who have chosen it to equip their most powerful and sporting models.
