PolarCool extends PolarCap® agreement with IF Björklöven
The med-tec company PolarCool AB (publ.) has extended its agreement with IF Björklöven in HockeyAllsvenskan for another two years. The ice hockey club has included treatment with the PolarCap® System in its routines since 2020.
PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.
PolarCool has a strong foothold in Swedish professional ice hockey with existing customers in both the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and HockeyAllsvenskan. IF Björklöven, became the first club in HockeyAllsvenskan to provide treatment with the PolarCapCap® by signing their initial agreement in 2020.
IF Björklöven's CEO Anders Blomberg comments;
-As a club, Björklöven wants to be at the forefront of HockeyAllsvenskan in our goal to reach to the SHL. Protecting and taking care of our players in the best possible way is of great importance to us. Our medical team is and wants to be top class, and it feels good to give them the possibility to continue to provide PolarCap to our players if they suffer a concussion.
PolarCool CEO Erik Andersson comments;
-We are happy that Björklöven chooses to extend the agreement, which underlines their commitment to player safety. Their medical team is on the forefront and it is gratifying that PolarCap has become an important part of their medical routines.
The extension with IF Björklöven is strategically important, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
