The med-tech company PolarCool AB (publ.) has extended its agreement with the Swedish handball team Ystad IF. The Swedish multiple champion team has included treatment with PolarCap® in their concussion management routines since 2021.

PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.

Handball is one of PolarCool's priority markets and the company, currently has existing agreements in both Switzerland and Germany. Ystad IF, have extended their current agreement and became the first handball club in Sweden to provide treatment with the PolarCap® System by signing an initial agreement in 2021.

PolarCool CEO Erik Andersson comments;

-We are happy that Ystad IF have extended the agreement, as they wish to continue to prioritize player safety. Ystad IF's medical team, led by Dr Daniel Jerrhag, is a pioneer in Swedish handball, and it is gratifying that PolarCap has become an important part of their concussion routines.

The extension with Ystad IF is strategically important, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
