The med-tech company PolarCool AB (publ.) has entered into a 3-year agreement with Austrian professional club Villacher SV for the use of the PolarCap® System, continuing the establishment of the treatment in European ice hockey.

PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.

The agreement with Villacher SV marks another step in PolarCool's expansion within the Austrian ice hockey market. Previously, PolarCool established its presence by signing an agreement with Klagenfurter AC, the first club in the Win2Day Ice Hockey League to adopt the PolarCap® System. The league comprises 13 teams across four countries.

Villacher SV will begin with an initial trial period, with the option to extend the partnership into a three-year commercial agreement following a successful evaluation.

PolarCool's CEO, Erik Andersson comments:

-In line with our ambition to further establish ourselves in European ice hockey, the agreement with Villacher SV is a very positive development. We are seeing increased awareness of the PolarCap® System, thanks to our intensive marketing efforts over the past year.

PolarCool now has a strong foothold in European Ice Hockey, the company holds agreements with clubs in seven countries. The agreement with Villacher SV is strategically important, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
