The med-tec company PolarCool AB (publ) has achieved a successful extension of their partnership with the prestigious French rugby club, Stade Français Paris. Over the past two seasons, the Top 14 team has incorporated PolarCap® into their concussion management protocols, reporting positive feedback.

PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussion. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.

Stade Français has been a pioneering force in rugby by being the first professional team to introduce the PolarCap® System for the care of concussed players. Since the agreement began in 2021, PolarCool has gained considerable traction in the French market, having secured agreements with fellow Top 14 league teams such as LOU Rugby, Racing 92, and Aviron Bayonnais.

Dr. Elliot Rubio, the Team Doctor for Stade Français, has consistently employed the PolarCap® System over the past two seasons and has reported positive feedback regarding the experiences and outcomes of players undergoing treatment.

PolarCool CEO Erik Andersson comments:

-We view the Stade Français contract extension with great optimism and anticipate that it will serve as a catalyst for further collaborations with professional rugby clubs, both in France and the UK.”

PolarCool’s goal is to continue to strengthen its presence in French rugby and the agreement brings strategic value, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
