Wales to use PolarCap at the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022
PolarCool have entered into an agreement with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) for use of the PolarCap System. The agreement is an important breakthrough for the company in international football and means that that the Welsh Men’s National team will have access to a PolarCap System throughout their World Cup campaign.
PolarCool AB (publ) is a medical device company that develops, markets, and sells products for sports medicine to teams, organizations, and athletes. The company provides treatment for concussive and sub-concussive brain injury through the portable cooling device PolarCap System.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is expected to be one of the most viewed sporting events on the globe ever, and the deal provides a big opportunity for PolarCap to receive potential exposure in both the sports medicine and public domains.

Following the Men’s National teams use of PolarCap during their World cup campaign, the FAW Women’s team and Junior teams will have access to the device throughout the one-year agreement. The agreements are limited in size but are an important strategic step for PolarCool into the international football market.
Whilst the average concussion rates are lower in football compared to sports like rugby or ice hockey, football remains a target sport for PolarCool due to the sports increasing concern surrounding the injury. FIFA has spent considerable focus to raise awareness and improve the direct management of concussion in recent years and is one of the top organizations to attend the upcoming 6th International Consensus Conference on concussion in Sports, taking place in Amsterdam from the 27-28 of October.
