Postgirot to establish B2B Postgirot to establish B2B, a new, open marketplace on the Internet; sights set on market leadership in the Nordic countries Postgirot is to offer businesses a new marketplace on the Internet. The site will provide a new open forum where corporate customers can meet, buy and sell services and transact payments in a seamless process. Postgirot will build the marketplace on the latest available technology platforms. The system will be an open one: it will support global trading models and standards such as OBI (Open Buying on the Internet), Rosetta Net and Biztalk. May 17th 2000, Postgirot established a subsidiary to conduct the operations of the new B2B marketplace. The marketplace is specifically designed to be totally open and unconstrained by geographical factors. "Our new B2B marketplace will offer customers an open and secure Internet marketplace where companies can carry out their business in a seamless process", says Postgirot Managing Director Anders Wahlström. "The technical system will also be open, supporting global trading models such as OBI. Postgirot has all the qualities required to become market leader in the Nordic countries via this unique system!" Postgirot's 425,000 business customers (comprising 95 per cent of businesses and other organizations in Sweden) represent an important prerequisite for a competitive marketplace in the new network economy. The marketplace will be built on the latest available technology platforms.
