HÖGSTA DOMSTOLEN I ONTARIO GODKÄNNER UPPGÖRELSEN MED SSAB

[Lisle, Illinois och Stockholm, Sverige] [17 juli, 2007] IPSCO Inc. och SSAB Svenskt Stål AB (SSAB) tillkännager idag att högsta domstolen i Ontario har avkunnat sitt godkännande av uppgörelsen där SSAB Canada Inc., ett dotterbolag till SSAB, förvärvar samtliga av IPSCO:s aktier.

Som tidigare meddelats den tredje maj, 2007, har IPSCO och SSAB ett avtal om att SSAB ska förvärva IPSCO:s aktier för 160 US dollar per aktie kontant och för ett totalt värde av ca 7.7 biljoner US dollar.

IPSCO och SSAB har nu fått aktieägarnas godkännande av budet och alla myndighetstillstånd som krävs för att fullfölja transaktionen. Det sista som kvarstår i affärsuppgörelsen är att konstatera uppfyllandet av ett antal resterande villkor som specificerats i kontraktet och som är beskrivna i Management Proxy Circular 11 juni 2007och finns tillgängligt på SEDAR:s hemsida www.sedar.com. Affärsuppgörelsen mellan IPSCO och SSAB förväntas kunna slutföras den 18 juli 2007.
