Starbreeze tecknar förlagsavtal med Universal Games and Digital Platforms avseende PAYDAY: Crime War

STOCKHOLM (5 februari 2019) Starbreeze AB, en oberoende utvecklare, förläggare och distributör av spel har idag offentliggjort att dess dotterbolag Starbreeze Production AB har tecknat ett bindande avtal avseende villkor för ett femårigt distributionsavtal med Universal Games and Digital Platforms för dess mobiltitel PAYDAY: Crime War. 

Enligt avtalet kommer Starbreeze erhålla 1,5 MUSD i förskottsbetalning vid avtalstecknande och Universal Games and Digital Platforms kommer att täcka vissa kostnader för fortsatt utveckling, marknadsföring, drift och kundanskaffning avseende spelet. Vid en eventuell global lansering kommer Universal Games and Digital Platforms erlägga ytterligare betalning i form av förskott/garanti och därefter kommer de att återhämta sina kostnader. Därefter har Starbreeze rätt till en andel av försäljningsintäkterna från spelet i nivå med förlagstitlar för PC och konsolspel. Starbreeze behåller alla IP-rättigheter för titeln.

Det har varit bra fart i vår öppna beta-test förra året och vi kommer att fortsätta utveckla och förfina titeln inför releasen tillsammans med Universal,” säger Mikael Nermark, tillförordnad VD Starbreeze.

Projektet kommer att utvärderas gemensamt under en sexmånadersperiod och därefter har Universal Games and Digital Platforms en option att lämna avtalet om vissa prestanda-relaterade mål inte har uppnåtts.

Parterna kommer att arbeta tillsammans för att ta fram en plan för release, vilken beräknas ske under 2019.
