EuroPride 2018 Stockholm fredag/Friday

Fredagen bjuder på en rad olika event runt om i Stockholm. I EuroPride House är Kriminalvården en av de arrangörer som håller i seminarium. I EuroPride Park kommer ni få höra Medborgarbandet, Wigstockholm and Kornél Kovács, Något som du inte bör missa är Human Rights Conference som hålls i EuroPride House.

Friday gives us plenty of happenings and activities all around Stockholm. In EuroPride House The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is one of the organizers how will hold a seminar. In EuroPride Park we give you Medborgarbandet, Wigstockholm and Kornél Kovács. Something one should not miss during Friday is the Human Rights Conference held in EuroPride House, where all debates are in English.

EuroPride 2018 Stockholm på fredag

Bee Bailey i EuroPride House

Kriminalvården blir en av de första ut på fredagen i EuroPride House, när de berättar om deras arbete om att bli den första myndigheten att bli hbtq-certifierad. Utöver det så blir det även bland annat en föreläsning om hur den brittiska polisen arbetar med att synliggöra transpersoner inom polisen. Samt en om hur sexkunskap kan läras ut på ett normkritiskt sätt i skolan.

Den nakna kroppen som konst

Thielska Galleriet visas Nakenakter, vilket är en utställning med tre olika konstnärer som på olika sätt gestaltat människokroppen. Till exempel har en modell utför en handling och intagit en pose vilket blivit en gestaltning. Utställningen granskar och levererar ett nytt perspektiv på nakenaktens tradition och hur man kan använda kroppen inom konst.

Möten över mat, i kostymer eller på dansgolv

På fredagen så sker även den traditionsenliga polypicknicken i parken bakom Pride Park klockan 15. På fredagen fortsätter spelkonventet QueerCon på Brygghuset, och fokuserar på mötet mellan hbtq och spel som hobby. Konventet erbjuder en mängd olika aktiviteter för alla som är intresserad av brädspel, rollspel, tv-spel, LARPs med mera.

Kvällen bjuder självklart på fest, Guldrummet får finbesök i form av Detox Icunt från RuPaul’s Drag Race, medan EuroPride at Butchers Church erbjuder en stor fest för alla danssugna med flera DJs och dansgolv.

Hemliga gäster och drag queens

I Pride Park så kommer artistkollektivet Medborgarbandet, startat av Nina Persson från The Cardigans och Gudrun Hauksdottir. Gruppen består av ett gäng otroligt duktiga musiker som tillsammans skapar allt från rap till elektroniskt och har beskrivits som “en medicin mot begränsningar”. Som grädden på moset, så tar bandet med sig en hemlig gäst till varje uppträdande.

Senare på kvällen ger Leo.B oss Wigstockholm, en show med drugor, klackrace och gästartisterna The Magnettes samt Annika Ljungberg från Rednex.

Samla på dig lite skratt

I parken välkomnar vi en DJ som rankats som en av världens bästa enligt den prestigefyllda tidningen Mixmag, ingen mindre än Kornél Kovács. Klockan 22 tar han över stora scenen tillsammans med sångaren Fredrik ”Apollo” Asplund. Det blir även en drop-in vigsel och en show av komikern James Lorien MacDonald i parken.

Human Rights Conference

Som en del av EuroPride 2018 anordnas två Human Rights Conferences, den första i Stockholm under fredagen. Den hålls i EuroPride House med föreläsningar och seminarier om bland annat hur minderåriga inte kan ändra sitt lagliga kön, mobiliseringen av transpersoner i Ryssland, och hur man kan använda rättsväsendet för att föra hbtq-rättigheter framåt. Alla punkter under Human Rights Conference hålls på engelska och det är gratis inträde. Den andra kommer äga rum under EuroPride 2018 Gothenburg.

Bee Bailey in EuroPride House

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service will talk about their efforts to become LGBTQ certified, and the british police will talk about how their work to make trans people visible within law enforcement. As well as a lecture on how sexual education can be taught in a norm critical way in schools.

The human body in art

At The Thiel Gallery, the exhibition Nakenakter is showing. Consisting of three artists who have all portrayed the human body in different ways, one of the artist by having a naked model performing an act and then striking a pose. The exhibition aims to give you a new perspective on the tradition of nude performances as well as using the human body in art.

Meetings over food, in costumes or on the dancefloor

During the day the annual poly picnic will be held in a park behind EuroPride Park Stockholm, at 3 pm. QueerCon marches on to its second day at Brygghuset, which focuses on the meeting between LGBTQ and gaming. The convention offers a range of activities for anyone interested in games, roleplaying, LARPs and more.

The night provides the perfect opportunity for anyone how want to dance; Detox Icunt from Rupaul’s Drag Race will be performing at Guldrummet, while EuroPride at Butcher’s Church will be hosting a huge party with multiple DJs and dancefloors.

Secret guests and drag queens

In EuroPride Park we will see the collective Medborgarbandet, founded by Nina Persson, most known from The Cardigans, and Gudrun Hauksdottir. The group consists of amazingly talented musicians who together create everything from rap to electronic, and has been described as “a cure for limitations”. As the cherry on top, the band brings a secret guest to every performance!

Later at night Leo.B gives us Wigstockholm, a show with drag queens, high heels race, and guests The Magnettes and Annika Ljungberg from Rednex, famed for their hit song Cotton Eye Joe.

Get yourself a laugh

We also welcome a DJ ranked as one of the best in the world by the acclaimed magazine Mixmag, the talented Kornél Kovács. At 10 PM he takes the stage along with singer Fredrik “Apollo” Asplund. There will also be a drop in wedding and a show by the comedian James Lorien MacDonald.

Human Rights Conference

As a part of EuroPride 2018 two human Rights Conferences are held, the first one in Stockholm on Friday. The seminars and debates takes place in EuroPride House and they are all in english. It is also free to participate.

About EuroPride 2018 and Stockholm Pride

EuroPride is an annual recurring event, where a Pride Festival in Europe is entitled to use the title EuroPride. EuroPride is an international event that attracts visitors from all over Europe. In 2018, EuroPride is being conducted in Sweden for the third time, and for the first time with two cities as organizers. During EuroPride 2018, the event is jointly organized between the two festivals Stockholm Pride and West Pride. This will challenge the concept of EuroPride and create a festive event that lasts three weeks, linking Sweden's two largest cities together, Stockholm and Gothenburg.

The European Pride Organisers Association (EPOA) holds the rights to the title EuroPride and grants the license of “EuroPride” to a different member each year. EPOA is a network of European gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender Pride Organisations. EPOA was founded 1991 in London. The purpose of EPOA is to promote lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Pride on a pan-European level and to empower and support local and national pride organisations in their efforts of planning and promoting pride celebrations. EPOA also wants to facilitate networking and skill-sharing among members.
