Fredrik Steinwall avslutar sin tjänst
Fredrik Steinwall avslutar 30 april sin tjänst som damchef inom den alpina verksamheten på Svenska Skidförbundet.
Fredrik har arbetat som alpin tränare för Svenska Skidförbundet i nio år, fem år med herrlandslaget och de senaste fyra åren har han varit ansvarig för damlandslaget.
– Det har varit ett enormt svårt beslut att ta, jag har haft nio underbara år med fantastiska kollegor och aktiva. Med det är dags att göra något annat nu och framförallt att få spendera mer tid hemma, säger Fredrik Steinwall.
Under sina fyra år med damlaget har Fredrik tillsammans med sitt tränarteam varit väldigt framgångsrika både på bredden och i toppen med flera medaljer på mästerskapen i Schladming 2013, Vail 2015 och flera junior-VM, samt med många pallplatser på Världscup och Europacup.
– Det har varit ett inspirerande arbete att tillsammans med kunniga kollegor och aktiva få motivera laget till att nå större utmaningar och mål. Jag tycker att vi har utvecklats på alla områden under dessa år, fortsätter Fredrik.
Fredrik har själv valt att inte förnya sitt kontrakt. Vad han kommer att göra nu får framtiden utvisa, men det blir i första hand fokus på familj och vänner.
– Vi har fört diskussioner med Fredrik under hela säsongen, men han känner själv att hemmet lockar mer och det respekterar vi. Vi tycker att det är synd att han slutar, Fredrik har gjort ett väldigt bra jobb under de åren han har vart med oss på Skidförbundet och vi önskar honom lycka till i framtiden, säger alpina chefen Ville Bylin.

Fredrik Steinwall to leave the Swedish Ski Association
Fredrik Steinwall will conclude his contract as the head coach of the Swedish ladies’ alpine team on 30th April 2015.
Fredrik has worked as alpine coach in the Swedish Ski Association for a total of nine years; five of those with the men’s team and, for the last four years, as the head coach of the ladies’ national team.
– This has been an extremely difficult decision for me; I’ve enjoyed nine wonderful years with fantastic colleagues and athletes. But now it is time to do something different and, particularly, to spend more time at home, says Fredrik Steinwall.
During his four years with the ladies’ team, Fredrik and his coaching crew have been successful at many levels, including winning medals at the World Ski Championships at Schladming 2013 and Vail 2015, as well as in several Junior World Championships, along with podium performances in the World and European Cups.
– It has been inspiring to work together with experienced colleagues and athletes to motivate the team towards ever-greater challenges and goals. I think we have improved in all areas during these years, adds Fredrik.
Fredrik himself chose not to extend his contract. What his future will hold is uncertain at present but initially he will take time to focus on his family and friends.
– We’ve had discussions with Fredrik over the entire season, but he himself feels that he needs to spend more time at home and we respect his decision. It’s a shame that he is leaving the team because he has done an excellent job during his years with the Federation. We wish him all the best in the future, says alpine director Ville Bylin.
