Swegreen names to the Foodtech 500 list
Swegreen have recently been selected as one of the companies to join The FoodTech 500 of Agri-food tech in 2021.
The FoodTech 500 is a list of the top five hundred startup and scale-up companies shaping the future of the intersection between food, technology, and sustainability.
‘We are proud to be part of the FoodTech 500. This is a confirmation of our innovative position in the vertical farming sector, where we created a solid solution and business model to contribute to production of hyperlocal, sustainable, and top-quality greens on site for the retail and hospitality actors.’ Highlights the CEO of Swegreen, Pierre Mohlin.
Behind this definitive list of global entrepreneurial talent, inspired by the Fortune 500, is the foodtech data and consulting company Forward Fooding. The FoodTech 500 showcases selected international AgriFoodTech startup and scale-up companies using a unique methodology to rank them based on their business size, digital footprint, and sustainability practices.
‘The Foodtech 500 mission is to shine a spotlight on the leading global innovators across the foodtech ecosystem from farm to fork.’ Says Alessio D’Antonio, Founder and CEO of Forward Fooding.
‘Why is this important to us? This list showcases the acting force behind creating a brighter future for the agrifood sector, companies that have innovated and created impactful solutions to enhance the unsustainable global food system. Being recognized as a global leader in food technology is a well-deserved recognition for Swegreen as a leading player amongst other named prominent actors in this space.' Says Sepehr Mousavi, Chief Innovation Officer of Swegreen.
Vertical farming industry is boldly represented on the 500 list as a piece of the puzzle for the future of farming. The top 50 leading vertical farming companies on a global scale from North American giants to European leaders such as Plenty, Infarm, Bowery farming, Square Roots etc. have been enlisted hand in hand with Swegreen as one of the youngest but definably fastest growing one amongst these actors with its unique niche and innovation for in-store farming.
