The Tourism Authority of Thailand is thrilled to announce exciting events and trade fairs scheduled to take place in 2024! TAT Stockholm will be a part of the following events and trade fairs to showcase the vibrant of Thailand's diverse destinations, local experiences, and cultural offerings, with the aim of attracting travellers from both Scandinavian and Baltic countries to visit Thailand with Meaningful experiences.

 

Beyond these tourism events, Thailand bursts with a rich calendar of festivals, celebrations, and sport events throughout the year. As you plan your itinerary, it's worth considering these captivating events to immerse yourself in the heart of Thai culture and traditions. Some events, such as Songkran (Thai New Year), are celebrated nationwide and have fixed dates, and together with Buddhist holidays.  To help you plan your 2024 Thailand adventure, here's a sneak peek at some of the highlights:

 

December 2023

An extravagant light event nights with light-and-sound shows, projection mappings, fireworks display, and cultural performances along the Chao Phraya River; Rama VIII Bridge, Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Wichai Prasit Fort, Memorial Bridge (Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge), River City Bangkok.

  • Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024: Ring in the New Year with a dazzling array of festivities across the country. Main highlight events : Wat Arun in Bangkok (31 December 2023) and the ‘Korat Winter Festival and Countdown 2024’ in Nakhon Ratchasima (29-31 December 2023)

  • Chiang Mai Flower Festival: 2-4 February
  • Amazing Muay Thai Festival 2024 - Bangkok: 2-5 February
  • Chinese Lunar New Year: 10 February 2024 : Highlight event at Chinatown, Bangkok
  • Trang Underwater Wedding: usually held mid-February to include Valentine’s Day
  • Ferie for Alle, Danish Travel show – Herning, Denmark :23-25 February. TAT Booth G5870
  • Makha Bucha Day (public holiday): 24 February

 

March 2024

  • Phuket Ultra Marathon 2024 100K - Phuket, Thailand: 2 March
  • Amazing Thailand “Surat Thani” Post ITB Roadshow in Copenhagen 2024 - Copenhagen, Denmark : 12 March
  • National Muay Thai Day: 17 March: Highlight event “Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony”, Ayutthaya

 

April 2024

  • Poy Sang Long Festival: held at various locations around north Thailand, particularly in Mae Hong Son (late March/early April).
  • Chakri Memorial Day (public holiday): 6 April
  • Songkran (Water Festival) /Thai New Year (public holiday): 13-15 April.  Celebrations takes place across Thailand with highlight event in Bangkok and Chiang Mai
  • TTR Baltic, Travel Trade Roadshow - Vilnius (Lithuania), Riga (Latvia) and Tallinn (Estonia) : 23-25 April

 

May 2024

  • Labour Day (public holiday): 1 May
  • Coronation Day (public holiday): 4 May
  • Royal Ploughing Ceremony, Bangkok: 10 May 2024
  • Visakha Bucha Day (public holiday): 22 May 2024
  • Rocket Festivals (Bun Bang Fai) – Yasothon : date varies, usually held mid/late May.

  • Pattaya International Fireworks Festival: dates for 2024 to be confirmed

 

December 2024

  • Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok – Bangkok, Thailand: dates for 2024 to be confirmed
  • King Bhumibol Birthday Commemoration Day (public holiday): 5 December. Also celebrated as Father’s Day and National Day.
  • River Kwai Bridge Festival and Red Cross Fair, Kanchanaburi: 8-17 December 2023
  • Constitution Day (public holiday): 10 December
  • New Year’s Eve (public holiday): 31 December
