Imint strengthens its collaboration with Qualcomm by supporting the new Snapdragon 778G 5G Mobile Platform with breakthrough video enhancement technology
Building on the companies’ recent collaboration, all Imint’s Vidhance solutions are now compatible with Qualcomm Technologies’ latest cutting-edge 5G mobile platform and come pre-optimized for use with the newest Snapdragon 778G Reference Design.
UPPSALA, Sweden, JUNE 3, 2021 — IMINT Image Intelligence AB ("Imint”), a global leader in video enhancement software, has collaborated with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., the world’s leading wireless technology innovator, to support Imint’s Vidhance video optimization solutions for use with Qualcomm Technologies’ latest high-tier mobile platform, the new Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 778G 5G Mobile Platform.
Imint further announced that Vidhance solutions will come pre-optimized for use with the Snapdragon 778G Reference Design, the prototype hardware that smartphone manufacturers use to evaluate the new mobile platform’s capabilities and design their own mobile products.
The two companies had previously collaborated on a new generation of video enhancement solutions utilizing the latest artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. Those solutions, including Vidhance Selfie Mode and Vidhance Video Stabilization, which began to appear last year in smartphones containing various mobile platforms from Qualcomm Technologies, have now been improved further for use with Snapdragon 778G.
“Consumer demand for high-quality smartphone video continues to grow exponentially, and through our work with Qualcomm Technologies, Imint is able to push the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Andreas Lifvendahl, Chief Executive Officer of Imint. “In a short time, Imint’s collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies has yielded incredible innovation. The optimization of our technology for use with the new Snapdragon 778G is the latest in what we expect to be a very fruitful, ongoing collaboration.”
As part of this collaboration, Imint, working with Qualcomm Technologies engineers, has optimized support for all Vidhance video enhancement solutions. Chief among them are Vidhance Selfie Mode, which is optimized for use with Qualcomm® Facial Recognition and the cutting-edge Qualcomm® AI Engine to recognize smartphone users and keep them in the video frame, even when they’re moving; and Vidhance Video Stabilization with Active OIS, which works with a smartphone’s built-in sensors to anticipate camera movement and reduce it in real-time.
Imint’s suite of Vidhance solutions also includes Vidhance Dynamic Motion Blur Reduction, Vidhance Field of View Correction, and Vidhance Horizon Correction. Vidhance solutions are used by leading smartphone manufacturers, such as Motorola, Nokia, Sharp, Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi, Vivo, and others.
Furthermore, by optimizing Vidhance solutions for use with the latest Snapdragon 778G Reference Design, smartphone manufacturers will have a head start in enabling professional-quality video for their Snapdragon 778G based devices.
“The optimization of Vidhance for use with the Snapdragon 778G Reference Design will make it easier and quicker for OEMs to create high-end smartphone video experiences,” Lifvendahl concluded. “Imint’s level of technology integration with Qualcomm Technologies’ solutions can lead to greater innovation in less time. That means consumers can be shooting high-quality video right out of the gate when they buy smartphones that feature the Snapdragon 778G 5G Mobile Platform and Vidhance video enhancement solutions.”
