Voi offers people in Portsmouth free e-scooter safe riding skills lessons

E-scooter rental company, Voi, is inviting people to take part in a free safe riding skills session in Portsmouth.
The in-person 20-minute e-scooter safety sessions are free and will take place on Saturday 11 May at the Mountbatten Centre tennis courts between 10 am and 2pm.
People taking part in an in-person session, run by Pedal Power Training, can learn more about Voi e-scooters, ask questions and develop their riding skills in a safe traffic-free environment.
Participants get a day pass worth £10, so they can ride for free throughout the session, and an extra 15 minutes of free riding time to practice riding safely afterwards. They also get a free helmet, worth £35.

Voi is also hosting a number of online ‘Ride Safe’ webinars which cover key aspects of safely riding a Voi e-scooter or e-bike, from how to start a ride, traffic rules, road riding etiquette, and how to park without causing an obstruction for pedestrians.
Live webinars run monthly from 16 May until 12 December 2024 and can be booked here and anyone completing one of them will get 30 minutes of free riding credits.
To ride a Voi e-scooter, download the Voi app, upload a copy of your full or provisional driving licence, take a selfie and complete the online safety driving school. Use the app to find the nearest vehicle, scan a QR code to unlock and ride. Voi advises riders to wear helmets. All riders must be aged 18 or over.
The safety webinars are run by the UK’s leading road safety education and training company, TTC, which has over 29 years of experience, educating more than 500,000 road users every year.
