WACKER intensifierar samarbetet med italienska silikonkompounderaren TSF

Munich, May 10, 2012 – The Munich-based WACKER group is stepping up its cooperation with Italian silicone rubber compounder TSF S.r.l.. According to a recently signed agreement, TSF will receive high-quality silicone raw materials from WACKER, which will be used to produce sophisticated silicone rubber compounds for the Italian market. The ready-to-use compounds can be sold under TSF’s own label, with the tag-line "Based on ELASTOSIL®". Customers for silicone compounds include the automotive, construction, electronics, cable and household-goods industries.
WACKER has worked together with TSF – the company is based in the Italian province of Brescia – for more than ten years. "TSF and WACKER are an excellent fit," said Dr. Bernd Pachaly, head of the Engineering Silicones business unit, at the signing of the agreement in Munich. "TSF is among Italy’s leading compounders and, like WACKER, has enormous know-how in this field." Silicone rubber compounds are usually made by incorporating a crosslinker, pigment and other additives into the rubber base. Typical applications include gaskets for the automotive and household sectors, cable insulations and profiles for the construction industry.
Compounding silicones is a sophisticated manufacturing process requiring a great deal of skill and experience. "Our customers expect short lead times, high flexibility and consistently high quality," added Pachaly. "In TSF, we have an experienced partner, who thoroughly understands the market and has the expertise and technical equipment to produce high-quality silicone compounds. This arrangement will allow us to serve our customers in the Italian market even better and more flexibly than before."
TSF’s CEO Giuseppe Rinascenti praised the agreement as an im-portant milestone in his company’s partnership with WACKER. "WACKER gives us the opportunity to produce high-quality compounds customized for novel industrial applications and new markets." Rinascenti considered it a mark of particular trust that TSF will be allowed to sell the compounds it produces under its own label with the tag-line ‘Based on ELASTOSIL®’. "The ELASTOSIL® brand stands for top quality and optimum customer satisfaction. And that high standard of course applies to our compounds, too."
