WACKER POLYMERS to Raise Prices For Dispersible Polymer Powders and Construction Dispersions

Munich, April 18, 2011 – WACKER POLYMERS is to raise its prices for vinyl acetate-, vinyl chloride- and acrylic-based dispersible polymer powders and construction dispersions of the VINNAPAS® brand. Effective June 1, 2011, prices for vinyl acetate- and vinyl chloride-based products will be increased by up to 10 percent and by up to 15 percent for acrylic-based products, or as customer contracts allow. This measure has been necessitated by the current strong increase in raw materials, energy and transport costs. The price adjustments will enable WACKER POLYMERS to continue providing constantly high product quality, comprehensive technical service and reliable global supply, and to boost the development of innovative product and process technologies for the benefit of customers.
The products of the VINNAPAS® brand are used in a variety of modern industry sectors, particularly in the construction chemicals market. Main applications include exterior insulation and finish systems, construction and tile adhesives, screeds, self-leveling flooring compounds, plasters, repair mortars, grouts and cementitious sealing slurries. The dispersible polymer powders and liquid dispersions of the VINNAPAS® brand enhance important end-product properties, such as adhesion, cohesion, flexibility and flexural strength. Water retention, processing properties and weatherability benefit from VINNAPAS®, too.
