Zuwe Hofpoort Ziekenhuis, Woerden has chosen the Swedish IT and medical technology company Sectra as its PACS provider. Under a recently signed five-year agreement, the hospital will benefit from Sectra’s latest technology, improving radiology workflows by increasing availability of images, enhancing performance of large image datasets and providing additional advanced visualization functionality.

Zuwe Hofpoort Ziekenhuis has leveraged Sectra PACS since 2005 under another brand. Under the new agreement, Sectra will upgrade the existing PACS and provide direct service and support.

“We value Sectra PACS for its intuitive user interface and excellent workflow possibilities. By upgrading to Sectra’s latest generation PACS with the IDS7 workstation, we will further enhance our level of services by enabling radiologists to efficiently read images from home and other remote locations,” says Dr. van der Werff, Radiologist at Zuwe Hofpoort Ziekenhuis.

The upgrade will further enhance workflow by, for example, allowing intelligent pre-fetching of images, reducing the amount of manual retrievals from archive dramatically. This is achieved through brokerless RIS/PACS integration.

“Sectra has proven to deliver realistic upgrade paths for the PACS and is a reliable partner capable of maintaining our system to the highest levels,” says hospital Service Manager John Heijlond.

Our long experience in the medical IT field, and our close collaboration with customers, ensures that our products have the functionality and performance required for carrying out each step in the radiology workflow as efficiently as possible,” says Peter Osinga, Managing Director of Sectra’s operations in the Benelux-region.
