First sale of Sectra Visualization Table to the Russian market
St Petersburg Scientific Practical Centre for Oncology has invested in the Sectra Visualization Table. The table will be used by the hospital’s oncologists to prepare surgery and treatment thereby improving quality in patient care. Interns and residents can use the visualization table as a learning platform to discuss the surgical procedure with the physician before and after the actual operation.
With the visualization table the hopsital’s doctors can easily assess size, form and orientation of a tumor and its relation to surrounding tissue and vessels. They can thus commence the surgical procedure with a well-aligned strategy and an awareness of complicating factors, which saves time and improve the outcome of surgery.
The table was sold by Sectra’s partner McBrothers in Russia.
About Sectra Visualization Table
With Sectra Visualization Table the users can interact collaboratively with the real-size 3D images generated by CT and MRI scanners. They can, for example, visualize different kinds of tissues and cut through sections with a virtual knife. The large monitor and intuitive touch interface support group discussion between medical teams. The visualization table makes a significant contribution to medical education, especially in training of interns and residents.
The visualization table is powered by a tailored Sectra PACS workstation. Sectra’s patented visualization techniques even allow immediate display of datasets of extreme size, such as high-resolution, full-body scans.
