Order from county council in Denmark opens new market: Funen County Council orders radiology information system from Sectra The Swedish IT and medical-technology company Sectra has received an order from the Funen County Council in Denmark for a radiology information systems (RIS). The order represent an important step for Sectra in the Danish market for digital radiology systems. The order is valued at about USD 0.8 million. The Conrad RIS-system will be used at eight X-ray departments and a nuclear-medicine department at the Odense University Hospital and the Funen Hospital. It will process the entire work flow, from referrals to response, including communications with the other departments and clinics in the hospitals. The system will be placed in operation in spring 2002. "We selected a supplier based on our desire that the entire Funen County should function as a virtual, paper-free department," says Svend Ulka Petersen, IT Manager at the Funen Hospital. "With Sectra's system, the other healthcare units are integrated with electronic referrals to all of our X-ray departments.
