The IT and medical technology company Sectra continues the successful sale of its digital medical imaging systems in the U.S. Recently a large Imaging Center Group, X-Ray Associates of New Mexico, selected Sectra as their PACS provider. The order is substantial and includes a seven-year agreement to provide service, ongoing upgrades and enhancements to the system.

X-Ray Associates of New Mexico (XRANM) is one of the Southwest’s largest and most prestigious radiology healthcare providers. XRANM operates seven imaging centers throughout the state and performs almost 200,000 radiology examinations annually. Sectra will deploy its enterprise PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and its partner Eclipsys’s RIS (powered by Sunrise™) to support a paperless workflow at each of these facilities.

“Sectra PACS turned out to be the preferred solution for our distributed environment and we anticipate that it will not only improve our overall workflow but decrease our costs as well,” says Keith Winterkorn, MD, President for XRANM. “We also value the fact that Sectra is an experienced, professional organization with an explicit focus on providing excellent service and support for their customers”, Dr. Winterkorn adds.

Sectra PACS facilitates the exchange of images and information between different locations, thereby optimizing workflow for all of the remote sites and the staff that supports them.

“Sectra and Eclipsys have made extensive investments in RIS/PACS integration over the years and now have a complete, digital imaging workflow solution for our customers”, says Dr. John Goble, President of Sectra in North America. “To be chosen by X-Ray Associates of New Mexico for this project validates not only our product capabilities but also their confidence in our organization overall”, continues Dr. Goble.
