Norwegian cross-regional dental health center invests in VNA solution from Sectra
The Dental Services Competence Center in Central Norway (TkMN) has ordered Sectra’s (STO: SECT B) IT system for processing and archiving digital radiology images, video sequences and other medical images (VNA). Using Sectra’s solution, images and patient information will be easily accessible for other dental clinics that connects to the TkMN network. The aim is to provide patients with access to specialist dental care despite the vast distances that are characteristic of the region.
A VNA solution enables central archiving and communication of images and other media in a variety of formats. The investment in the new IT system is a key component in facilitating cooperation and the electronic communication between competence centers, and the private and public dental care facilities in the region. The images and video sequences taken at TkMN’s competence centers and affiliated competence clinics, and at the specialist clinic in Trondheim, will be accessible by authorized personnel at the network’s clinics. In turn, it will lead to faster and improved dental care for the 700,000 inhabitants of the Central Norway region.
The main task of the Dental Services Competence Center in Central Norway (TkMN) is to analyze and produce scientific-based expertise in the fields of dental healthcare, the treatment of dental-related diseases and improve access to dental care.
