Shelton, CT – July 28, 2008 - The IT and medical technology company, Sectra, displayed its integrated RIS/PACS solution, available in the US and Canada, at this year’s AHRA annual meeting in Denver Colorado.

The ability to provide an integrated solution that delivers patient data, images and clinical tools to the radiologist has grown significantly in importance over the past few years, resulting in the convergence of RIS (radiology information system) and PACS (system for handling digital radiology images).

Sectra’s combined RIS/PACS solution is especially powerful with customers who have demands to deliver radiology services across several institutions and/or communicate between several healthcare providers. These healthcare organizations are typically facing complex staffing and reimbursement issues.

One such customer, Solis Women’s Health, leverages Sectra’s RIS/PACS technology to drive efficiency at multiple breast imaging centers.

“Our organization requires maximum operational flexibility for our growing network of centers to be able to realize the full potential of our business strategy,” Chief Executive Officer Brad Hummel explains. “Sectra meets this requirement with an integrated RIS/PACS solution that is scalable, reliable, easy to implement, cost-effective and robust. We can pursue our business model with confidence, knowing that Sectra will maintain a superior level of performance as we expand.”

“Customer’s have come to expect from Sectra a solid combination of future-proof solutions and proactive service, delivered by competent professionals. A tightly integrated RIS/PACS offering allows us to meet customer demands today, but customers can also expect our radiology IT solutions to continuously evolve to deliver against the changing requirements of the North American Radiology IT markets,” says Dr. Goble. “We’re enthusiastic about our new capabilities in solving our toughest customer challenges.”
