FMV (Swedish Defense Materiel Administration) has ordered products for secure mobile telephony and secure desktop phones from Sectra. The units are primarily intended for use within the Nordic Battlegroup. The order value amounts to SEK 6 Million.

The products ordered by FMV are part of Sectra’s Tiger family. Tiger products facilitate the exchange of sensitive information regardless whether communicated from a mobile phone, desktop phone, conference phone or computer. These products have been approved by several national security and accreditation bodies in Europe and NATO.

Sectra recently also received a contract from FMV to supply the Nordic Battlegroup with encryption equipment for secure radio communications between vehicles and troops in the field.

”The orders to the Nordic Battlegroup demonstrate the strength of our offering,” says Jan-Olof Brüer, CEO and President of Sectra AB. “We meet our customers’ entire communications needs and offer encryption solutions that cover varying environments and situations.”

Nordic Battlegroup – cooperation across national boundaries
Sweden has undertaken coordination responsibility for the Nordic Battlegroup, one of the rapid reaction forces established by the EU member states. Beginning on January 1, 2008, and for six months from that date, Sweden will command this rapid reaction force. Nordic Battlegroup consists of a total of approximately 2,500 soldiers to be deployed for crisis management operations within a radius of 6,000 kilometers from Brussels.
