Press release – September 26, 2019 – International medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) is arranging a Capital Markets Day today in Stockholm. President Torbjörn Kronander will present Sectra’s role and growth potential within the cybersecurity area, together with members of the management team for the company’s Secure Communications operating area. Pia Gruvö from the Swedish Military Intelligence and Security Service will provide insight into current and future challenges within encryption and cybersecurity.

The Capital Markets Day presentations will provide updates on the company’s markets, product offerings and strategies for growth within Secure Communications as well as how the operating area contributes to Sectra’s goals.

“We’re working to expand our offering to reach more customers, and major investments for the future are ongoing within the critical infrastructure and government/company security customer segments. Historically, the business model has largely been built on delivering products and projects, but now the focus is on expanding the share of operational and support services. Our ambition is to continue to grow profitably within all customer segments. The growth strategy is built on a clearer focus on customer segments and increasing service sales while we expand the customer offering through partnerships,” says Simo Pykälistö, President of Sectra’s Secure Communications operating area.

The Secure Communications operating area, which represents around 10 percent of the Group’s sales, helps customers reduce the risk of eavesdropping on society’s most important secrets and of unauthorized data access to sensitive infrastructure. The operating area has grown approximately 20 percent per year since 2015, with sales today of over SEK 150 million. Customer needs are driven by the ongoing digitization of society, increased cyber threats, the current geopolitical situation and the development of quantum computers. With extensive knowledge of cybersecurity and the trust of security authorities and customers in Europe, Sectra is well equipped to respond to the increased demand from critical infrastructure as well as other important social functions and government authorities.

Unique combination
Sectra is a strong brand in cybersecurity and medical imaging IT, areas where trust is vital when it comes to choosing a supplier. This combination is unique and is a particularly valuable asset in the healthcare market, where the need for protection against unauthorized data access and cyber attacks has grown significantly in recent years.

“During the last few years, we’ve experienced positive growth with increased synergies, with the medical imaging IT and cybersecurity areas strengthening each other. The Group has stable underlying operations with favorable profitability, long-term customer contracts and a steadily growing share of recurring revenue from growing markets. We also have a number of new geographic markets and exciting projects in the pipeline that can become significant in the future, including investments in cybersecurity to help companies within the energy sector and process industry with security analysis and system monitoring services for critical operating systems,” says Torbjörn Kronander, President and CEO of Sectra AB.
